J-Pouch and Colds | The J-Pouch Group

Hi All,

Does anyone else have a finnicky pouch when they get colds? Whenever I get a cold, my pouch starts behaving erratically. And that is WITHOUT taking cold meds (if i take cold meds, it is even worse). Just wondering if anyone else has the same thing happen to their pouch.

Sure. My question would be, why wouldn't it? When you have a cold your mucus levels rise, and not just in your nose. Plus, depending on the virus, multiple systems can be affected.

It happens to me, too. When I get a cold my pouch gets the flu. Or something like that.

My husband always has it rough when he gets a cold or the flu. He gets dehydrated FAST. So he has to drink alot.

my pouch seems to have a mind of its own i am just along for the ride!things happen for a day and than just go away..no reason i can think of..
