Hello,

I have told my story on here before so I will not go into detail. Long story short I am not 27 years old, had my JPouch surgery when I was 13. I have very good luck with my JPouch. I rarely flare and live a very normal life. My husband and I started TTC in January 2011. We did Clomid, HSG, etc and a couple months ago went to have laparoscopic surgery to try to remove my right tube and clear my left. Surgery was not successful and we are now on the route to IVF. I hate googling it and seeing all the failure rates so anyone with any fun and happy stories are encouraged Wink We probably only have the financial resources for one shot of IVF so I am getting very nervous. I start injections 8/8. Thank you!!

I was scared to death to do IVF, but it turned out to be a lot less traumatic than I was expecting. I found the injections were more of a nuisance than anything else. Worst part of the whole thing is the 2 week wait after you transfer your embie(s).

I did three cycles and got pregnant first try all three times. First was a fresh cycle where we transferred 2 3 day embies. One implanted and he is now 8 1/2! I did a frozen cycle and did get pregnant but miscarried early. Second fresh cycle we transferred one 6 day blast and she is now 6 (as of last week)!

My best advice is to be sure they don't over stimulate your ovaries. I know you may only have one chance here, but the last thing you need is OHSS (which I had a slight case of second fresh cycle which is why we waited till day 6 to transfer) which is really uncomfortable and could derail your whole cycle.

I got about 20 eggs each of my fresh cycles and that is a pretty reasonable number. 8 fertilized the first time, we transferred 2 and froze 3 (the other 3 didn't make it through the freeze). We had one that survived the thawing process for try #2. With the second fresh we had 5 strong embies. One we transferred and 3 made it through to freeze.

Let me know if you have questions! Good luck!

Jill
