what do you guys do for this ungodly itch? my surgeon said its just something you have to deal with cause of new cell growth but dayam people. its enough to make ya nuts...

I've used Trader Joe's Aloe Vera gel and it helps me with any itchy areas. Best wishes!
i should have clarified. its an open stoma wound. they say just change dressing daily but the itch can be insane. ive been reading that its a sign of new cell growth but still. i can be unbearable...
My basic colectomy incision was crazy itchy.
I don't know if you can do this with a stoma wound, but could you apply ice or cold to the area (not directly to the wound of course, but via a towel/etc.). When I had shingles I found that ice would help with the itching sensation. You body can only send so many signals to the brain, and in that case the chill canceled out the itch.

Thanks for clarifying! I would not use anything unless your doctor or ET nurse recommended it. For sure, don't use a live Aloe Vera plant because it is full of bacteria. Best wishes!
