Hi guys. For over a month I have been on, off and back on Flagyl. After a scope, the doctor has not called it pouchitis, but inflammation. The flagyl cleared up the terrible cramps, watery stool etc. GI does not want me to stay on flagyl too long and prescribed xifaxin (which I have spent a week trying to get because of insurance!) Now I have iritis! Has anyone had experience with xifaxin? What about iritis? Could the flagyl be responsible? Man, it seems like there is something new everyday.

I've gotten iritis about 7-8 times, however, not for a few years (knock on wood). I don't think it was related to antibiotics, but as Jan said, an autoimmune issue.

See a good opthalmalogist. I had to use steroid drops and dilating drops for a very long time during each episode. Mine seem to have resolved with no issue other than more floaters.
