My Doc thinks that i have and an intestinal stricture. So he is going to have me do a Pouchogram and a Pouchoscopy.  He has mentioned before that if I do have a stricture that he feels I would benefit from surgery. I am not opposed to that as I am so sick of feeling this way.  My question is what type of surgery could it mean and how long is stay in the hospital, typically? I will be asking him all these questions when I see him. But I was wondering what others have experienced.

Also are strictures a common thing?

Yes, strictures are common. I have one and it's the most frustrated thing and causes a lot of my problems. Unfortunately I found out recently I am not eligible to have the surgery. I would if I could. It's called Strictureplasty. It does require a hospital stay and there is recovery which I think depends on what needs to be done.

Good luck.
