I am almost 4 weeks post-reversal surgery. My wound had completely scabbed over and suddenly I saw two little cloth stitches poking through. The scab fell off and the stitches remained sticking through. In my Internet research, it seems like this is not an entirely uncommon occurrence, and that if I left them alone they'd likely dissolve. Well one went back in the skin and the other is still there and now it has become infected - first just at the site but now it's spreading past a bandaid and is hot, etc. I know I need to talk to my doc about this but it's Saturday - can this wait until Monday?  Or is it more urgent than that?

Thanks for any input!

Just to update, I went in to see the doctor, he said it looked like my wound had healed prematurely and my body got a minor infection as a result of a reaction to the stitches that hadn't dissolved yet.  He lanced it after numbing me, cleaned it out and removed the stitches, and now I'm supposed to tend to it like I did right after surgery.  I have another follow up this Friday to make sure it's healing properly.   Thanks again for the input everyone!
