Infection after first surgery?

Last night my daughter who had her first part of the Jpouch surgery on June 18th, said her tailbone hurt so much - not the tail bone but that area? I am concerned that it may be from part of the surgery and/or the beginning of a piloindal cyst which my other daughter has suffered from for several years. Anyone have this after surgery, the pain near the tailbone area? I am going to call the doctor but thought i would ask if anyone else has had this - thanks

Definately call. I had really bad pain in my tailbone after my step one and it turned out to be an abscess in my pelvic area that needed to be drained. I also had difficulty urinating because the abscess was large enough that it was putting pressure on my bladder.

I too have had the tailbone pain. No abscess but my niece who is a surgical tech said it could be nerve damage. I am almost 3months out from step 2 and it has eased up alot. Sometimes my left but cheek feels like I have been sitting for hours when I have not. Good luck to your daughter, hopefully this is something that will ease up.
