So I was having issues with incomplete emptying. Doctor said to start Metamucil, which I did and thing improved but then they started downhill eventually they got worse and worse till I was only passing very small amts of stool. Surgeon ended up doing a scope and found a build up of Metamucil. She cleaned it all out but didn't find anything, said all looks good. She said my old stricture wasnt too bad at all but dilated anyway. That was on Thursday just two days ago. Today I'm still having issues of going so often like every 2 to 3 hours and some straining and very small skinny stools.

I know it could sound ridicolous, but try to eat a cucumber this evening and see what happens tomorrow morning.

And perhaps you could just not completely stop but reduce metamucil, and take it along with double liquids (two big glasses of water)

You can also try lactulose (never tried it but I'm going to get some of it next week)...

What's your base diet?

Rachelraven - i tend to take hot baths alot just to ease the pain of going so much but even after the relaxing in it i still cant seem to go so well.

IKH - i guess my base diet would consist of oatmean and waffles for breakfast, sandwhich for lunch with occasional snacking of starcrunch (im a huge fan) dinner is usually chicken with rice and greenbeans or carrots or pork with rice and greenbeans/carrots.

For me, I have to pass the stool INTO the hot/warm water of the Sitz; just taking a warm bath doesn't help. It's something about the angle on the toilet, the heat, and the water hitting RIGHT THERE that works. Baths do not.

Also, if I ate as much starch as you seem to be eating, things would be too thick for me. I know it's the thing for loose stools, to help, but with issues, maybe back off a bit?
