Me: pretty sure I have another abscess

Colorectal surgeon: No, think that is just a nodule due to your Gardner's Syndrome

Me: well I had one on the other side that landed me in the ER and my CT last year showed I had 2. One was removed so....

Fast forward 2 months later. Driving 25 hours moving across country, on a huge painful abscess size of a golf ball. Hit the ER Monday and got the staph out and packed. On Bactrim and the stuff makes me want to vomit.

I like to categorize these things under "stuff" happens. You have that premonition, or whatever, that makes just know what's going on. But, until all the evidence lines up, there's not much anyone can do about it.

Makes it easy to hate the guys that can't seem to fix it before it becomes real mess. But, on the other hand, I guess they are just doing the best they can, based on what they see and know.

Doesn't make it easier, I'm sure. You feel like you are doing all the heavy lifting! And why the heck does everything always come to a head when it is the least convenient?!?

You have my sympathies and I hope things are getting better now.

I went to the ER one time (uncontrolled vomiting, no pain). I had had five surgeries that summer and had been throwing up every couple of days since I left the hospital over a six week period. Before the tests, I was talking to the Dr. and I told her I wasn't worried about a blockage, but an infection.

They pumped me full of IV fluid and zofran and gave me an x-ray. No fever, no blockages so I left. Three days later I ended up admitted to the hospital after a surgeon's appointment. They did a contrast CAT scan and guess what, I had an infection. The infectious disease Doc confirmed that a slow brewing abdominal infection can cause vomiting.
I have another one starting where the first was removed. I am going to my CRS here at Baylor while I am here in town (Dallas). I am tired of it. Doctors are questioning why I am getting them even since I have no working parts down there. Pain in the ass. Literally. Also interferes with my life, I swim daily and just got my fly going good with ab strength.

I get really awful back pain. Been hard to stand up now and my bones feel like they are being slammed with hammers. Something about the abscesses healing really does me in. On pain killers.
