So, I am 3 years post-op from my j-pouch surgery and have a very healthy j-pouch. Before my issues that caused me to need a j-pouch, I weighed about 105 lbs (I'm 5'3" so 105 lbs made me very skinny but necessarily unhealthy). After my issues, I lost about 25 lbs and went down to weighing 80 lbs. Since then, the highest I've been able to reach on weight is 90 lbs. I'm really trying to just gain another 10 lbs but I am finding it very difficult. I take a full dosage of metamucile twice a day. I eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner (I sometimes have 2 lunches). I also snack a lot in between meals and try to eat as much bread and drink as much whole milk as I can. For some reason, I'm still maintaining only about 90 lbs, sometimes less. I've tried drinking boosts and insures on top of all of this but to no avail. I was wondering if anyone had some tips on how they were able to gain weight back. I feels like I don't want to add too much more food into my daily routine because I do become nauseated very easily and that can sometimes cause me to eat less so adding more food may induce nausea.

The nausea is likely the source of your weight challenge, since more food is pretty much the only solution. Have you consulted with a doctor about the nausea? Perhaps you have chronic gastritis, for example.

The nausea is something that I've had for a long time and it's usually due to over eating or trying to force myself to eat more. As I mentioned, I eat a lot and very often but if I want to add more food to my regiment it has to be gradual or it will make me sick. I've talked to my doctor but she always just suggests I eat more or drink more insures and boosts, which do not help me. I've even had doctors tell me that since my body is attempting to maintain my current weight, I may never be able to gain weight back, however, I find that hard to believe. I think I just have not found the right method for gaining weight, yet.

Whether Junk food or not, you shoud be gaining weight , especially if eating to such an extent you're feeling nauseous.

If there's no undelying reason as to why you're not gaining weight from your current intake of food, then you're either not eating enough or you're too active for what you are eating.

However, such a desire to gain weight can easily lead to aquiring too much body fat, which is a damn sight more difficult to get rid of than it is to aquire.

Ensure you consume good calories, from meat, chicken, turkey, fish pasta rather than bad calories from cream buns, jelly doughnuts, ice cream or the likes.

Junk foods such as pizza, burgers etc is not as bad as what people believe, but it's the amount consumed, how often and what the cholesterol of such foods can do the internal organs if not ate within moderation.
