Take down was 2 days ago. Surgeon put powder down in my wound now it's stuck at the bottom and I don't want to poke it with the q-tip. Will it eventually wash out by showering? Only little came out this morning when I showered. They didn't tell me to shower the wound twice daily only change gauze twice daily. I don't shower every day (when I have energy, every second day). I'm so frustrated and upset he even did this now

My wound was almost open. He used an ointment and then covered it with a gauge to self heal. I could see my systems inside of it. It self heals in a week. If you don't like to look at it loosely cover it with a sanitised cloth but make sure air passes well through it so that moisture doesn't stick to it.

I got it dressed every 2-3 days from a local pharmacy . Cleaning and redressing helps in faster healing of the site.

I didn’t have powder, from what I remember.  However, I would think it would clear out on it’s own.  What instructions were you given as far as wound care?  I was instructed to take a shower each day and let water run over it, gently dab the area to dry and then place a new small dressing over it.  If I were concerned about anything, I would call my surgeon’s office.
