Hello, Borislav.

Each person is different, some take a few hours and other take longer. It also depends on what foods you eat, the amount you eat, and how fast It is processed by your stomach, then into your intestine, and finally your pouch. If you want to know how long before it comes out, you could try a test: Eat some cooked beets and make a note of the time. Then wait to see how long it takes to come out. You'll know how many hours because beets have a bright red colour like blood and beets will turn your stools red, so don't be scared, just remember it's the beets, and it's not forever. Or try eating blueberries.

Hello, Borislav.

You are still in early days so soon after reversal. It can take up to a year before formed or solid stools. My surgeon said sometimes people don't have formed stools anymore, ever, and the best they can look for is stool that has the consistency of cooked oatmeal or porridge. Hard or too solid stools aren't so good either. It can hurt coming out and can cause fissures or cuts from pushing to get the stool out. I was told that soft stool is the best because it won't hurt or make you push so hard. As long as you are healthy, don't have pouchitis or fissures or pain, or constant diarrhea, or bleeding, and you don't suffer from blockages, as long as it comes out regularly, you should be okay.

Give it several more months. Your pouch is very new and it is trying to get used to the new job it has. Treat it kindly, choose soft foods if hard fibrous foods give you problems. Go slowly if you are trying new foods or drinks. One food at a time so you know how it affects your pouch. For me, pasta or chicken or fish is very good. If the food gives you problems, leave it and try it again in a few months. Going a lot in 24 hours is normal in the beginning. I started off with 12 to 15 times a day. Now it is 4 to 6 times a day, depending what I've eaten and how much. Your pouch has to mature. it has a big job to learn in the beginning when it is new.

I know I'm very early in my stage of jpouching its been rough for me the tho I don't know what to eat or drink because things make me run I'm afraid to eat or drink anything because of this I'm so frustrated Imodium or Metamucil has not worked to stop the watery stool I have been in and out of the hospital through both surgeries due to high output and blood clots and verious other things I've never had before the surgeon said the process is easy you'll be fine I feel like I got lied to I wear depends and trash bag around me everywhere I go it's just like a flowing waterfall I don't know what to do I'm so frustrated
