Hi all,

So I’ve been battling an annoying diarrhea for like 3 weeks, un medicated hoping it would go away. But after dropping some weight I finally went to my GI and he suspects I have a bacterial infection probably E Coli and gave me 5 days of Cipro. I’m just kind of worried because I’ve taken two pills already but consistency hasn’t changed. I will say that my energy has gone up though and my frequency is back to normal (3x day) and I actually slept through the night.

I’m just annoyed that my consistency is still liquid :/ Anyone know how long it takes for Cipro to kick in? The last time I took it almost two years ago it kicked in like 30 minutes later, but I had only waited a week after my diarrhea symptoms started to take them. Not sure if that has anything to do with it. My GI did an ultrasound and said I looked fine to him. Any thought?

It worked fairly quickly for me except for my last/current long term pouchitis. Be careful with it though! I was on it for almost 3 months and a couple months later I ended up with a severed Achilles from it. Cipro weakens tendons, usually the Achilles. Had surgery to repair/reconnect the Achilles and 2 years later my foot is still not right.
