Hipec enema tomorrow

I have to get something called a Hipec enema tomorrow to make sure my J Pouch has no leaks. The surgeon assistant told me to do a clear liquids diet for 24 hours. Now that I think of it, why do I have to do the clear liquid diet for this test when its only checking my pouch since no waste goes through that part. Does anyone remember if they had to go though this. Am I starving for nothing?

I had this done last month and I had no prep or instruction for clears at all. All the imaging came out great if that helps at all.

Thank you, that makes me feel better because yesterday I broke down and went to Steak N Shake. Logic tells me it won't matter since my J Pouch hasn't had any waste go through it yet. Now I'm sitting in the waiting room ready to get this enema over with. Thanks!
