Following both step one and step two I dealt with 3 exhausting weeks of ileus, my digestive system just would not start up, NG tube, belly swelled, it was very  frightening. I've spoken with a top surgeon who made clear that there was no way to know if the long ileus would happen again when repairing the hernia at the stoma site. Frankly I'm 15 years older and I don't know if I could survive another bout. I'm wondering if it might make more sense to leave the hernia alone, there's no pain, it's just a baseball size bulge in my belly.

Leaving the hernia there will cause problems. Hernias can cause blockages and other dangerous stuff; blockages can lead to death.

I know it stinks to get things like that taken care of, once you get it taken care of, you will feel so relieved

Do not keep this up when you can get it solved. Waiting and putting off things often leads to dangerous results. its not worth it honey.

Thanks. Mine's like a little baseball, there's no pain, no discomfort at all, just like a gurgling musical instrument if I push on it. I could live with it, use one of the many belts that are made. It's just that the surgeons are so quick to warn about the potential dangers, strangulation etc. The ileus is the thing, I seem to be prone to it, and I don't think I could survive another 3 week bout.

The belts are just a band-aid, its not a fix all solution. Everything is your choice,  I hope you do the right thing to take care of yourself.
