This site always gives good advice.  This has not been the best two weeks.  Started with a flare up of pouchitis which my doctor added a second antibiotic to my regime of 2x/day Cipro.  Seemed to calm it down but made me too sick and nauseous so I stopped.  The stomach is doing a bit better so the bathroom trips are more normal but in it's place I've got terrible hemorrhoids and back pain!  When I went to see the doctor for the pouchitis, he had his resident examine me and she noted it was a skin tag - I think she may be wrong.  My doctor never even examined me which has me kind of frustrated.  It got worse after the visit.  I am now about four days in with terrible hemorrhoid / skin tag? pain and back pain at night.  I can barely walk around.  They just started me on Anusol HC?  Anybody had luck with that?  Will this resolve over time?

I welcome thoughts/suggestions.  I am very scared of the thought of hemorrhoid surgery since I hear it is horribly painful and I can't take pain meds etc.  Are there other options?

Thanks

There’s a good chance the hemorrhoid(s) will clear up without any need for surgery. The Anusol should help calm them down. It does feel like the end of the world while they are inflamed, though! I think the most likely connection between your pouchitis and hemorrhoids would be more frequent bathroom trips with more straining. Reducing/eliminating straining is very important to enabling the hemorrhoids to heal. You may also get some relief from sitz baths.
