I had my scope Wednesday and I have been treated with cipro for pouchitis. Now I can't poo it is killing me. I have to strain and strain. I finally broke down and took some pain medicine. I have not take any limotil or loperimid at all today. I feel like I have to go but only go a little and push a lot and then end up in the tub. Is there something I can drink or do to help me out? I have never ever had this feeling of being blocked but I'm still going just very very little. I feel like my insides are failing out. I can't even sit down. I do still have cipro to take but any other ideas? Also I seen on here someone say about a great butt cream to use. I think I seen it sold at my local Walgreens but I can't think of the name of it. Can you all give me your ideas on butt cream. Thanks everyone. This pain is terrible and I hope I don't have to live this way much longer. I would much rather have the runs or diarrhea!!!!!! Thanks in advance.

Sometimes I use an enema to get things going. If it is a blockage, I've heard you shouldn't use an enema, I don't know why. Many people say that for a blockage, you get down on your knees and rock back and forth and side to side. I've also noticed that if I lie on my back with my knees up and rock back and forth, wiggle a bit... That it gets me going.
Could be that your inner sphincter is spasming. I get this all the time, and I have to manually dilate my sphincter to pass stool quite often. If your stool is coming out in a long skinny form, it is quite possible you are experiencing spasms. The pain can be from fissures that form when your sphincter spasms. I use an exam glove and ointment when I dilate . . . but you could use any lubricant to give this a try.

I KNOW your pain . . . I hope you find a solution soon.
