Hi all! So I just had my takedown on Thursday (the 7th) and was discharged on Sunday.. My question is this- I still have quite a bit of gas rumbling around in there that just won't escape (ugh!) Is this normal?? And also, I don't have much of an appetite. I am making sure to at least get toast or something in me, but just not much sounds good. Again, is this normal? I am making sure to keep up with my fluids and stay hydrated. Thanks!

If I remember correctly, the gas comes and goes as your system wakes up and adjusts to things.

I just had surgery to repair an incisional hernia, and I lost my appetite for about 4 days. Not having an appetite is normal, at least for me.

However, I believe it's important to eat, just like you are doing, to keep the amount of gas in your system minimal.

Hang in there and try to relax, if you can.
