Hegar dilators

Hi all,

Well, it's been about 15 years since I've posted. Whew! I'm surprised my account was still active, but there it was!

I just started regularly inserting a Hegar dilator for my anal strictures and I'm wondering- should I be feeling any pain AFTER doing the insertion/removal? I only feel pain in the intervals between using the dilator. I don't seem to have any problem passing the dilator- if it stops I wait and don't push, "going with my body" until it moves again. But sometimes it stops more than others- perhaps I'm poking and prodding too much?
