I am spending another sleepless night dealing with awful heartburn! I never get heartburn and it just seems like in the last month I've been getting it everyday/night. I drink a lot of water, watch what I eat & try not to eat anything that could trigger it. Seems like I can drink water & get it! I eat Tums but that seems to mess my gut up & I end up in the bathroom more often than normal. I take generic Zantac daily but that doesn't seem to help much. Anyone got any remedies they can share? It will be greatly appreciated!! Thanks

For me Nexium was the best. I take sublingual prescription previcid now and it got my gastritis and esophogitis under control. Ask your GI about those 2. Otherwise I don't know for foods. Anything without acid of course helps. Once i got it only meds helped. I had a wicked bad case the other day, not sure why. Maybe coffee to soon to going to the gym. Bread made it worse I noticed and plain water didn't do much as well. It sucks to have. I have a hiatus hernia due to it.

Maybe some warm honey and milk? I always like soothing stuff since my throat starts to hurt too. Plain warm honey should work too if you aren't into dairy and also a tsp of apple cider vinegar for 2-3 days.

My drink of choice is turmeric root, I grate it and boil it with soy milk, strain it and put honey in it. Turmeric helps with inflamation and all of it mixed together is rather sweet and settling.
