I don't understand what the normal procedure is when going from a J-Pouch to a permanent illeostomy!  Shouldn't the opening for the Pouch be somehow closed up so that poop does not come out of the rectum?  I am still having a substantial amount of poop coming out of my rectum as well as into my Ostomy Bag!  Someone please help and tell me what to do as pain is now coming back to my bum which is the reason I went to illeostomy to begin with!  I had developed many burning, painful, unbearable ulcers down there from so much diarrhea and was told I needed to get a permanent illeostomy which I did and am now in worse shape than before.

I didn't even realize that incontinence could be an outcome of pouch reversal. If it was me I think I'd schedule a consultation with another surgeon. Most if the best ones at the main colorectal surgery centers who do revisions will schedule a second opinion as a video conference.   I hope there's an answer for you.
