I don't specifically take ginger for anything, but I do love the taste so I use it a lot with cooking. However, ginger is known to help settle stomachs, calm nausea, and aid in general stomach/gut health. (Think ginger ale when you have a tummy bug, etc.) So I guess it makes sense it could help with reflux.

I can tell you that here in the Netherlands ginger is use A LOT for general stomach health. A common breakfast food is "ontbijtkoek" (literally, breakfast cake), which is like banana bread except with ginger. It is thought to aid with digestion and give one's stomach a good start to the day. It is served regularly in the hospital to any patients with ANY sort of stomach/digestion/nausea/gut issues. Also "koffieleutjes" which are small ginger cookies (often served with coffee/tea); I can attest that those are good to eat when one's stomach is queasy. They definitely help settle things down.
