Gel Like Discharge? | The J-Pouch Group

Hi so I’ve had my j-pouch for about eight years now and it’s caused me very little trouble and for that I’m extremely grateful but in the last year or so I’ve found that occasionally I’ll wipe and there will just be a slick clear almost gel like discharge coming from my anus.

It doesn’t hurt or really bother me at all, I guess I just wanted to know if this is normal? Or honestly what it is if anyone knows. It’s just something I find a bit strange but otherwise doesn’t affect anything.

I am 12 years post take down and sometimes have the same issue. I don't know what it is exactly, but it doesn't seem to affect the way my pouch works.

What you are describing sounds like the reference to mucous being discharged rectally.

Yeah, sounds like mucus. Have you had a pouchoscopy recently? And if not, when was your last one???
