It would help to know what you've tried. Some people get better results with a more typical eating schedule around dinner, and even a *small* fatty snack at bedtime (e.g. a spoon of peanut butter).

What works well for me is Lomotil at bedtime and Metamucil/Konsyl (I've started mixing them) before dinner. I might have a light snack later, but in my body it doesn't seem to matter. I can usually have a definitive visit to the bathroom just before bed, and sleep through the night. Occasionally (like last night) I do have to get up once.

It's possible that it helps that I usually stay up until around midnight, so I have over 5 hours between finishing dinner and going to bed. If it were much shorter I might have poorer results.
I've found that the position I sleep in makes a huge difference. Laying on your back will put the most pressure on your pouch all night. Laying on your sides also puts the added weight on your pouch. Try sleeping flat on your stomach for a night and see if that makes a difference for you. Many people also use sleep aids. Unisom is non habit forming, but doesn't work for everyone to keep them asleep all night like Ambien or a prescription med would. The Unisom worked great for me when I was pregnant, otherwise, I would be up every hour.
Thanks for your replies. The only thing I take is loperamide, 2mgs. The script is for 1 pill every four hours for loose stools. I take 2-3 pills at once and I do not notice any change. My stools are always loose, yuck. I go quite often during a day, but more at night than during the day. I do have metamucil powder. I haven't used it much though. Any suggestions? Last night was awful. It felt like glass rather than stool. I ended up getting in the tub. My surgery was in 2011.

Try taking 2 pepto bismol with lopermide. Also try oregano oil, 3 drops in a capsule around 6PM. That worked for me for quite some time and would still be working had I not been put on a new terrible protocol that goofed up my whole system. I used do terra oils. I know that glass feeling also and this can help. You might have pouchitis.
I would experiment with adding Metamucil. If you have the powder, mix it up with just a little water to make a sludge, and down it-I like to take it just before meals, or possibly before bed. I used rouse the powder, then I switched to the wafers-ate one before meals, or now Intake the capsules-the trick it to just take the fiber, but not the extra water as directed, because you want the fiber to sop up the water already in your system.

It may help thicken the stool and slow down the frequency. I find when I have a lot of BMs ai get so sore down there that it seems to signal a trigger to evacuate more often, so it is a negative spiral.

I know what you are going through my jpouch is six years old, had a few pouchitus episodes but not for a while now just a lot of blockages, going to the toilet up to 16/20 times night time a nightmare I was so tied I found myself nodding of while driving, have been going to a special dietician for about 8 months now has me on a fodmap diet also gluten and dairy free it has made a great difference at first I was on 6gastro stop tablets and benefiber now I take 2 gastro stop.going to bed probably could stop that but am determined to get a night sleep very rare I have to get up in the night.it not a hard diet to follow but is helpful to have someone guide you through it.i have an app on my phone to help when shopping to guide me it is fromt THE MONASH UNIVERISITY LOW FODMAP a DIET hope this helps I feel so much better walk up to a 6 km a day so much more energy. Every person is different. I had my colon removed 17 yrs ago and have had diarrhea ever since. How often I go depends on what I eat, what meds I take, how much stress I'm under, etc. I also take Tylenol 3 at bedtime with my Lomotil. The codiene helps with the number of times I may have to get up during the night. Many times I dont have to get up at all. But depending on other things, I may have to get up 3-5 times. It can get frustrating!
