Hey Guys!

It's been a while and hope everyone is well!

I get iron infusions about every 6 months and it seems to work fairly well.  However, I had to go back for a second round of iron infusions this summer because my iron was still low.  The second round was given to me 7/11.

I had my iron checked yesterday and the doctor told me my iron was still low, which concerns me.  I assume it's due to the frequency of blood in my stool I have been having over the past several months and I am depleting more iron than usual.

What should I do?  I have been drinking shots of turmeric and ginger to try to control inflammation.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Sam

Make sure you get scoped and not just given antibiotics. What colour is the blood? I was bleeding for 4 months and my GI just kept giving me cipro. Turns out it was crohns, pouchitis and cuffitis all at once. Doing better on remicade and methotrexate now. Scope is the key.

Hi Sam, I had a few years were I had several haemorrhages with bleeding. The only way I could stop the bleeding was to cut out all sugar products, I even cut out fruit. That was 10 years ago and I have now added in a bit of fruit but for me it was the sugar that was the main culprit.
