Fistula and Seton procedure

So I go the update from my surgeon today. I have a small fistula in the sphincter and will need a Seton as a next step. Has anyone had this procedure done? How painful is it and what was recover like? I just recovered from having an abscess that was painful and had me laid up for several days. Interested to know what to expect. Scared of pain meds and blockages and hoping I won't need to use them much.

Any insights are helpful.
