A hole going from one palce to another...sometime a sinus track (a longer hole)...it can be caused by an accumulation of fluids(abscess or infection or an accumulation of fluids) in one area that 'push through' to another (nature trying to evacuate it)...sometimes they are not too serious (but can take a very, very long time to heal)or painful and others they can be particularly miserable (recto-vaginal)...the connection between 2 zones can be particularly problematic...many different treatments(antibiotics) but sometimes the surgeon will try to go in and fix it by cleaning it out and sewing it up or just allowing it to drain and heal...I am not an expert but there are many herre who have lived with them for years.

ps...I hope that you don't have one!
ps...how are you doing?

Ok, that is very good news...I was a bit worried there...I am ok, still coughing a lot but they put me back on antibiotics for 10days and I should be fine a a couple of days...this is pretty much the first time that my lungs are this sick...But I am in good company...1/2 the country has it so I really don't feel 'special'. The rest is just my normal...the usual aches and pains and a persnickity pouch but that's just life...I am happy to have work, be able to do a lot of it from home and have an income again...every paycheck helps the pain feel a little lighter...
Hope life is good on your end of the Atlantic...
Sharon
ps...be ware of the flu...it is seriously not nice this year
I was born in the U.S, left at 7 and moved up north to become a Toronto girl...then here (Paris) at 23...I go back 'home' regularly and even bought a place w/my best friend Stateside...I intend to retire back home in about 10yrs if possible...For now I re-established my residency which was a biggie for me...but for now, life is here, the hubby +family...it is just very hard...I miss home. And for me, health care is a major factor in where and how I live...It is really hard to admit but when you are ill, health care makes the decision for you. Toronto or France...those were my choices...the States was a slippery slop for me with my health concerns...I couldn't afford to pay for healthcare and unless I win the lottery it will just have to wait...Lately with all of the Drs apts and medical complications I add up in my head what each and every visit, prescription, exam etc would cost me and realise that I may never be able to afford it...especially with a k pouch...someone, one day will have to tell me what I need to do to get health insurance when I go home...
Sorry...my little rant....I just am a bit homesick.
Hugs
Sharon
