Hi all -
I'm pregnant w/ my 2nd baby and have had my jpouch since 2010. My first baby was born prior to my surgeries. I'm about to enter the 2nd trimester and I'm having a lot of issues with stool consistency. I feel like I'm struggling to stay hydrated because I'm passing so much liquidy stool but I'm not able to eat a ton of starchy things because it makes me feel sick. Is this normal? Got any advice?

I am almost in my second trimester! 11 weeks + 4 days.
I have been making a special drink since my surgeries based on some practical advice that i received in the hospital that has kept me from becoming dehydrated no matter what.
I still drink it 2 years later every day and it is helping me a lot.
I feel like I have been going to the toilet a lot more lately as well.
This is the recipe. It takes a few days to get used to the saltiness, but now I can't drink it without salt.
You will need gatorade powder, table salt, and water.
I usually take a bottle of water (600ml) and put in HALF of a scoop of the gatorade powder.
This makes it half strength regarding all the sugars.
Then i pour in about a teaspoon of table salt.
put the lid on, shake it up good and drink up.
I have one on me at all times. I drink them all day. (Water does nothing for me)
I live in Australia (Gold Coast) where it is hot and humid and you can get very easily dehydrated under normal circumstances and even more so with no colon. When I finish I just fill it back up and make another drink. I swear this is the best advice I have ever received. Even after a hard sweaty workout or hiking in the heat, I never get dehydrated. I have told quite a few jpouchers that are always in the hospital on drip for dehydration. NOw they drink it and have not been back to the hospital since. None of them! It works. Like I mentioned, it takes a few days to get used to the saltiness, but I can't taste it at all anymore. You can always ease into the level of salt you add. Just make sure you use HALF a serve a powder for the amount of water you are using. Otherwise its too sugary and that's no good.
It has helped so much with my nausea and morning sickness as well. I just skull one of these and I feel heaps better. When I start getting light headed and dizzy from being preggers, I drink up and it helps.
