I would like to try and help others who may feel the same. I've had my J pouch for 2 years now and sometimes I feel tired and light headed and can't be bothered to do anything at all. Also my knees become weak and click a lot. I noticed when I'm like this I start to crave raw finely shredded cabbage from the local take away. It's the type u would get with a donner kebab. I stuff my face with this stuff even though I know it will send my bowels crazy but by the next morning I feel fantastic. I've started to realise that there is something in this that is doing me good so I did a little google research. I found that cabbage is rich in vitamin K. Vitamin K if you google it is so good for your bones, immune system, and other things. We store vitamin K in our liver we also produce some of it in our intestines. So my thoughts are that I have ran out of vitamin k and needed a mega boost of the stuff. To feel so good the next day after my binge and my knees not hurting I must have given my body what it was crying out for. From now on I'm going to make sure I have the shredded cabbage from the local take away at least once a week. Also if you try this out make sure it is very finely shredded so it is quite soft and raw so your intestines have more of a chance of absorbing all the goodness but beware it does give you wind but a small price to pay for a healthier body. When you listen to your body it tells you what it needs and most of the time (barring sugar/salt cravings etc) you get it right...I had periods that I would crave carrot juice, lemons and artichokes...turned out that my gallbladder was blocked with sludge and that seemed to help clear it out...also great for detoxing the body...we all should learn to listen better and act on it...thanks for the tip, I wonder if cabbage juice would do the trick since I can't eat the cabbage!
ps. is it raw and natural or is there a sauce or dressing on it?

I think cabbage juice will be really good for you. I have lemon juice on my cabbage but I suppose you can have anything with it that takes your fancy. My iron levels do get low from time to time and the doctor told me when having iron rich foods you must eat foods rich in vitamin C too. The vitamin C helps the body to store the iron as we can loose it quite quickly. I sometimes get the fresh green olives and sun dried tomato from the supermarket which is a good boost of iron. Olives are another one of those foods that are so good for us. They have quite a bit iron in them. Trial and error I suppose for us but I love trying out new foods but make sure I'm staying in when I do just in case haha
