First, let me say that I'm not a jpoucher yet. I had my colon removed Aug 2012 then some emergency surgeries and resection for an ischemic small intestine in July. I have two ostomies right now...a diverting loop and my original end that will live again once the loop gets put back in. Jpouch someday. I had also been throwing up for several weeks due to a latent infection in my surgery wound. I'm on antibiotics now and the throwing up has stopped.

In the evenings though I feel like I am absolutely stuffed...like Thanksgiving Day stuffed. I can eat and drink only a tiny bit and still feel this. Anybody ever experience this before?

Active,
You could have a minor blockage...are you vomitting again? Is stuff coming out of your pouch? Generally, a full blown blockage (or occlusion) means nothing going in and nothing coming out but partial blockages can allow some stuff through and therefore you have stuff in your bag but still feel like you are stuffed...you might want to call your doc and see about having a scan or other exam to see what is going on in there...
If you start throwing up again, go to ER...
Another possibility is that you are dehydrating...how is your liquid input? Are you drinking enough fluids? Are you having enough salt and other minerals? Has your output changed or gotten thicker?

Thanks for the suggestions.

It's likely not a blockage as I was in the hospital last week and had a contrast CAT scan (I've had the same full feelings for awhile). No other signs of a blockage. Output is pretty much liquid as I have a loop jejunostomy. I'm no stranger to the ER so I won't hesitate to go!

The dehydration thing is something I need to seriously consider. I'll try being "better" about my liquid intake. I hate ORS solution so I'll hit up some salty foods to help with absorption. I am on TPN so I should be getting some good doses of minerals at night.

Maybe I should just embrace it and eat less so I can lose the weight I need to lose Wink
