Atten Jan D. and others: I take 3 capules of budesonide EC (total of 9 MG ) daily for about a month but only when I have a bad pouch flare up.  I am going out of the country for a few weeks next week and plan on bringing it with me in case its needed .  I have a supply that I would like to use but the prescription was filled (never used) on 07/2017 and the prescription bottle indicates a handwritten date (by the pharmacist) of 11/2018.  As this medication is super expensive and insurance won't cover it I would like to use it if really needed on my trip. However, altho there are general warnings on the efficacy and or possible safety of "expired" meds in general, I was also told that many pharmaceutical companies actually write a smaller window of time before expiration than is really necessary.  Any information on "true" expiration date would be greatly appreciated regarding this particular medication.  I am more concerned about dangerous affects than receiving and weakened dose. Thank you all so much.
