I am having serious pain after I exercise. Even doing gentle yoga leaves me with residual pain so much so that I need to take it easy for 3-4 days afterwards. I had my colon removed one year ago this month and I had my takedown in March 2013 I was able to exercise for quite a while but then in August started getting the pain. It was bothering me so much that I went back up to Cleveland to see my surgeon who took a look at my pouch and everything and said I looked good and should be doing fine even though he did say I had to fissures which were 90% healed. So from his point of view that was not what was causing me trouble. He assured me that I had the green light to do any kind of exercise I wanted including weightlifting which I've done for years. Has anyone else had this situation or does anyone have advice on what to do.? I have tried taking breaks from exercise and as soon as I go back it hurts again thank you so much for any help

Maybe a trapped nerve in your scar tissue? This can cause pain when there is no disease or serious pathology. Unfortunately, cures for these sorts of things are not easy and sometimes impossible. It can mean chronic pain management, nerve blocks, etc.

Also, if you have not had any tests other than pouch scope, a CT or MRI might reveal something outside your pouch that is not visible inside it.

I suppose the easy thing to do is avoid exercise, but, can you luve with that?

I understand how painful walking can be too. Part of my problem is my body has tried to compensate for my pain by doing things like involuntary going into a fetal position while I'm sleeping. These sorts of things makes my fascia try to compensate and grow wrong. I have fibromyalgia too which complicates things further. It's difficult for me to explain this all but she is helping me "open" up by doing simple exercises - like breathing ones. My body's kind of hunkered or turned inward. My Neurologist and the ART Chiropractor have been able to tell a lot about what's going during examinations and just having me walk for instance.

I ordered cushions for the kitchen chairs and used rubber blow up doughnut rings to sit on after my surgeries. I still don't sit on a hard chair if I can sit anywhere else.
