I still don't know how to pronounce this and I've had it twice now haha. Okay, well I'm 22 now, and I had this once before when I was about 14 I believe. When I had it last time, I found out I had pouchitis and had to get my pouch drained of fluid (pus). I think that was just before my attempted take-down, so that was right after my 3rd surgery I believe. That time, it seemed like the bumps just started to accumulate over night--I had several small ones that started to get bigger and more sore and puffy. It went away not long after my pouch was drained with no problems. This time, about a month ago, I had one bump that looked like a spider bite on my shin, and it puffed up until it almost took over my shin. Now I have four bumps all on my shin in a big round circle of swelling (they're like bump-bros just chillin' out on my shin in a cluster), and two on my other leg. It looks like another one is beginning to show as well. About a week ago, I also injured my knee while I was being silly and took a running leap that either tore or strained a ligament or a tendon in my knee, so along with that and the EN, walking is difficult. I tried not to freak out when I noticed the first bump because I instantly thought back to being a teenager with it and how I was confined to a wheelchair and a bed because it was too painful to walk. Now I'm just worried that it might mean something is going on internally that I'm not aware of... I'm also on diflucan/fluconazol(sp?) for a very clinging bout of thrush that just won't seem to go away (I've had it and been treated for it off and on for over a year now). I also know I do not drink enough or even eat enough as I have ADD medicine that decreases my appetite so I forget to eat a lot of the time. So, I'm wondering if maybe my diet (or lack-there-of) has something to do with it. I'm trying to monitor everything more carefully but I also have school and my ADD makes it really hard to keep track of... well a lot of things. I'm working with the free health clinic and it's been hard to maintain care because the people switch off so often, but I've been there so much in the past year that they all just about know me by now. I'm also in classes, walking up and down hills a lot, and just driving to school is getting hard with my legs being messed up. I haven't been to a GI since my final take-down in 2005 (which I know is really bad), so the health clinic is trying to refer me to a GI some time in August. I'm hoping they can tell me what the heck is going on, if I have pouchitis again, etc...

I've heard different treatments for EN have been tried, but I can't take an antibiotic because of the thrush, and I can't take steroids (or rather I won't) because I had prednisone in the past for way too long and I already have a sensitive stomach... I'm considering just waiting it out or trying some over-the-counter antihistamines to see if I can get some results.

Oh, and I went home for the weekend so last night I ate a cheeseburger for the first time in like months, and my legs actually started to feel almost instantly better. It could be placebo-effect talking but wow. WOW. So awesome.

I had this too. So painful. I was told its one of the symtoms of crohns disease. My dr. also does alternative medicine. So he put me on a vitamin program. If you are interested I will ask him what it was. But, I got better within a very short time, and have never had it again. I am still taking vitamins, just can't remember the ones he started me on. Hope you feel better soon. I used crutches when I had this. They help.
