Re: Erosive pouch

My husband has the pouch nearly 30 years; had a colonscopy today and doctor said he saw an erosion in the pouch. Need to wait two weeks for biopsy results. No symptoms, no blood, feels good. Fear he may lose the pouch, or it may be chron's disease (he had the antibody blood work which was normal). Doctor said not to worry and treat it as pouchitis. What can an erosive pouch indicate? Thank you.

It can indicate pouchitis, just like the doctor said. When I first developed pouchitis it came on gradually, so there was a significant delay before it was looked at. The pouchoscopy looked like a minefield of erosions.
