Hi ladies,

about a month ago I had a draining seton placed for a rectovaginal fistula. the seton does not bother me at all, but my finace and I had sex for the first time since the placement and i've been having light bleeding/spotting all day. Just wanted to see if this was normal, or something I should let the Dr. know is happening! Thanks!

I was told by every dr. I've seen, that having sex with a seton will not damage my RV fistula - could involve pain, but will not damage anything.

I would suspect that the blood is coming from the "wound" that the seton emerges from - caused by pulling, tugging, etc. I would watch it for a day or 2 and see if it continues. If it does continue or get heavier, you should let your dr. know.
