I know a few people here may have been his patient so I thought I'd share this news with the community.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Dr. Victor Fazio, who passed away earlier this week. Dr. Fazio was an innovator in colorectal surgery and pioneered the use of techniques that allow patients to avoid the need for colostomies. In 2008, he was named the Chairman of Cleveland Clinic's Digestive Disease Institute. Dr. Fazio previously served as the Chairman of the Department of Colon and Rectal Surgery and Vice-Chairman of the Division of Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic. His contributions to the lives of his patients and the ‪‎IBD‬ community at large were immeasurable, and he will be missed.

Dr. Fazio....You were the best....I will have you in my thoughts always for the miracle surgery you performed on me...You created my Koch  Pouch , which I still have, although other surgeons have  damaged it....perhaps a surgeon you trained may end up pulling off yet another miracle and perform surgery to save it, and your legacy will continue on. Your legacy will continue on as well for the thousands of people you helped, and with all of the surgeons you trained.  You were a good man and a great surgeon.   You  helped so many ,. many people....Rest in Peace........Thoughts and Prayers are with your Family.
