Over the last year or so I've been feeling fairly well (with the exception of the odd blockage) but I've been noticing my stomach protruding more and more.

My first thought was that it must be weight gain (because who hasn't snacked a whole lot more since the pandemic began) but when I stepped on a scale, I really hadn't gained much.

I'm 5.7" and 120 pounds, which puts me at the low end of normal with a BMI of 18.8---but I somehow have a 32.5 inch waist, all sticking right out front like I'm pregnant. (I'm definitely not.)

My GI says he doesn't feel any hernias, so I guess it's not that. He did put me on a course of antibiotics on Friday though, hoping to ward off more blockages in case they're being caused by pouchitis--however, like I said, I feel fine.

I know it's just cosmetic, but it really bothers me. Does pouchitis generally cause a distended stomach? Is it something anyone has experienced and been able to resolve through antibiotics? Or has anyone had a distended stomach and found out that something else entirely was going on--either with their pouch or something completely unrelated?
