Hi guys,

There was a news special over here about the side effects of Depakine (sodium Valprorate) on the children of women who took it while pregnant.

They interviewed a woman who had 3 handicapped children and who had  been searching for years for a link that could explain why all 3 of her kids had learning disabilities and other medical problems.

They recently found the direct link between women taking Depakine and birth defects in their children.

I was given Depakine as the go-to drug for epilepsy in my early 30's while attempting to get pregnant and no one ever told me about the risks. I never managed to have a baby but I know that I am not the only woman on this site to be epileptic.

Thought that I would mention it for those of you who may be at risk of be putting your future children at risk.

Sharon
