ct barrister what do you consider reasonable amount of time before rotating antibiotic?(i tend to stay on something if it works long time i keep going till i think i need to change..presently on amoxicillan 45 days and counting)

do all antibiotics cause these above problems or are we talking about the cipro/flagle class?(i know xfaxin not but that is one that least works for me)

Rebecca,

I think it would be helpful to confine the discussion of yeast infections and fungus issues from long terms antibiotics to the thread already started on the topic. It is confusing to have two parallel threads on the same topic.

To answer your question, any antibiotic that kills bacteria can expose you to yeast infections. The broad spectrum antibiotics tends to killer a broader spectrum of bacteria and have a better chance of causing these issues. Any of them can.

I rotate every week or two, trying to stay on xifaxin longer. At the moment, I have stopped antibiotics cold turkey to allow my body's bacterial levels to recuperate sufficiently to fight these viral and fungal infections.
