I have an operation coming up and for the past couple of weeks I've been coughing up a lot of  thick ,dried up mucus.

Tbh the weather in England isn't very summer like atm so that might be the reason but I can also draw parallels to the last time I had a major flare up that led to my operation because I had a similar cough, the smell and taste of mucus was causing my nausea.

Back then the weather wasn't very spring like, it was colder than normal  so I attributed my feverish condition to the cold. I was used to cold weather ( I used to live in North America) but when the weather improved to 60-70 degrees (15 Centigrade) I was still wrapping up warm, it turned out my fever was caused by my sick bowels.

The worry I have is that I don't want to go into an operation with this issue still remaining, who knows what might happen post operation ? I'd thought it'd go away itself but weeks have passed and it still remains. Given that I  still have 6 inches of colon remaining with UC, could it be the UC causing the cough or the weather?
