I have had a constant cough since last February.  I have been to a lung doctor on Long Island and had all the tests you can imagine.   My Gastro wants me to see the Lung Dr. In the City. My apt is in March.  Is there anyone out there that had any problems  with a cough?  I am on vsl#3, antibiotics,  multi vitamin Vit B, chewable C and B, I do cough up yellow mucus could it be allergy related?  I am at my worst in the morning after I have oatmeal and drinking water.   I can't stop coughing up this yellow mucus. It seems to subside as the day goes on but I still have the cough all day.  I also feel that I have a cold sometimes.  Now I just developed a cold sore on my lip which I never had before. I do have the autoimmune  disease like most of you do and psc.  My cough is always raspy sounding.   Should I be concerned ?   Thanks for any advice  Grace

From around 1977-1984 I had a horrible chronic cough (mostly mornings & nights)...just came on one day with no warning...never linked it to a season or an alergy...did all of the tests.

Then I left for Paris and stopped coughing. Went home 3 months later and it started up again. Every time that I came back to Paris I was fine...home...coughing.

Turned out that I had a Floccati (sheeps's wool rug/bedcover) in my room, on my bed...I was highly alergic to it.

It may just be something in your home or your work environment that does it to you...

My doctor says that if it is not seasonal (waxes and wanes according to the seasons), viral or bacterals (they test for it) then to look into the environment (it turned out that I was alergic to wool, cashmere and most furs (yes, I know...my husband loves this alergy)...I went to a carpet market in Turkey....had to bolt out of there within minutes...couldn't breath...Now we have hard wood floors.

Try removing everything that is animal fiber from your environment for a week...and see if that helps.

My daughter has had a dry scratchy cough on and off since takedown 1 1/2 years ago. No idea what it could be, I wondered if it could be related to autoimmune issues but hoping not.  We moved (actually the very same day that she ended up in ER, was admitted and 2 weeks later needed surgery) so maybe it is something in the new house she's allergic to. She was away at college and just came home a few weeks ago. I asked if she had the cough at college to and being a typical teenager she didn't really know. Anyways thanks, I will look into possible allergens.
