Thanks Subzeromambo. Very interesting about the stretching etc... It's been a while since anyone has written on this theme... You sure inspired a lot of people... I find the Forvia commentary very interesting, although I find it very difficult to believe I will find it here... A friend of mine was in the process of sending me Vitamin D (10,000IU). I sent her the money... and then she was diagnosed with skin cancer (she also suffers Vitamin D deficiency and was buying it for her self also...; believes that the skin cancer and the deficiency are related)... I have a bunch of Thai and Vietnamese cookbooks here in Guadalajara, although it is very difficult to find the ingredients. Thai was always my "favorite". However, Vietnamese is much fresher. In my mind the overall healthiest cuisine is North African/Middle-Eastern, better known as Arab Cuisine... Arab cuisine requires much less "prepared ingredients"... Less preserved...
Hello,
Thank you for posting regarding your knowledge and experiences. I am afraid to hope for healing and that there is help and weary of new diets and changes. Nothing seems to have helped.

I have been struggling with malabsorption and dump syndrome for 13 years. My kidneys are failing due to the loss of fluid. My energy is severely effected as well.

Any suggestions?

Thanks
Hopeful,
First off I would start with bloodwork to see where you are at...not just the basics but full pannel + all of the bells and whistles (and don't let them forget the tyroid!)...taking suppliments without knowing what or why can be dangerous...you may think that you are getting what you need and then ignore the underlying problems and you may be giving your body stuff that it doesn't need and overload your kidneys which are fragil at the moment..
So, blood work, a good nutritionist and an endocrinologist to make sure that your thyroid is not at the bottom of some of your problems.
Next, personally (and this is my personal system and not necessarily good for anyone else) I take a liquid B-complex suppliment, a gummie multi vitamin and collagen for my joints (don't know if it is helping but it is not hurting me and my skin looks great!)...I add a good quality probiotic for periods of time when I feel the need and iron for the same reason.
I take an annual Vit D shot and add calcium...
That said, I am not suffering from malnutrition, my hair, nails and skin and eyes look good (an excellent indicator of certain problems from thyroid to malnutrition) and I am nowhere near skinny.
Most suppliments that I take are in liquid, chewable or disolvable because if not, they come out the other end intact...so make sure that your doctors understand your biological limitations.
Good luck and make sure that you take your medical files with you when you go to see a specialist so they know what they are dealing with.

Hopeful, after a severe dehydration incident in March, during which I suffered some (thankfully) temporary kidney damage, the nephrologist who treated me in the hospital arranged with my gastroenterologist, for me to have hydration therapy once a week. If I didn't make a concentrated effort to drink 64 oz. minimum of Powerade or Gatorade it would probably be 2-3 times per week. I get a liter of fluid by IV. So far, almost 6 months and no hospitalization. That never happened last year.
Ask your doctor about hydration therapy. Best of luck!
Thank you for the information about forvia. I have ordered it. I just came from a visit and scope with Dr. Shen and he says I have SIBO ( cramping, abdominal discomfort--I have a barnett pouch). He said go on low fiber and low sugar diet, and take a vitamin!( along with 550 mg xifaxan). He didn't mention any specific diet, so I am going to see a dietician for help. The diagnosis came after he originally thought it was IPS, but nortiptyline and tincture of opium did not help after 4 months of trying.
I also take electrolytes because of dehydration. It's called oxylent and is sugar free ( vitamin shop) there are several flavors and it is much better than gatorade. I highly recommend it.
