We raised just short of $4 million for CCFA funded research through this one race. It was a zoo with more than 30,000 racers, many were in wild costumes. Racing with pouchitis was tougher than I expected.
AMAZING! The funds raised, not your pouchitis I had a team in a CCFA walk once and came in as the second most $$ raised, don't think I will share than amount here, lol.
Congratulations and I hope you have recuperated and your pouchitis is gone.
Thank you Marie. The pouchitis has gotten worse since the race. I suspect exhaustion has a lot to do with the symptoms and pain increasing. I think I will just stick to 5k and 10k from now on. Those I can do with a smile on my face.
Jan, I started out with a walker in March and used a cane until Sept. 1. Training for this was hard but I found a great coach that showed me how to move my body in ways that gave me more speed and used less energy. I am an old scarred-up woman. If I can do it, I am sure you can. Thank you for the good wishes. Cynthia
