Hello all..Ive been on and off this site for 13 years..Long story short.J pouch surgery in 2002.,never got relief..System built wrong..now having surgery in 3 weeks at Cleveland Clinic to revise or shut down (he wont decide until he gets in) my pouch..with Dr. James Church.. He doesnt do it laproscopically but the other Cleveland surgeons do..I really would prefer Dr. Remzi do it Lapro..(although I love Dr.Church, I know Remzi is more experienced in J-pouch and does it the easy way)...Can you guys tell me how big the difference is in Lapro vs open? Its going to be hard to reschedule as I am 6 hours away and Im sure Remzi or Strong have a long wait and I would need to see them once before I even schedule surgery. But lapro from a j pouch genius sounds amazing..Need advice..My pouch is completely broken right now, only my bidet saves me on a nightly basis. Thanks ya'll.

You really need to have it done open. This is major surgery - redoing, or shutting it down. Good surgeons need to see everything that is going on in there. Also, you may have a lot of scar tissues that needs working through. Stick with remzi and let him do his job. He is the BEST for repairing or ripping out messed up jpouches.
