Scott thanks for sharing your story. My cipro and flagyl stopped working and my Dr gave up on me. So I tried Scott's  plan and am on 1 500mg of cipro and 1 250mg of flagyl a day. It is helping me and I'm don't have no side effects. Not to have butt pain is the best. I also take pepmo sometimes because I can't stay away from chocolate. So things could be better if I could stay away from sweets.lol I also am using the canasa supositories maybe five days a week. I know I will have to find another dr once my scripts run out, but for now I'm good. I just take day by day. Ny stress is less also since I started raising Monarch butterflies again, very relaxing and rewarding.

I'm glad it's working. You might want to print out the article by Bo Shen that's linked to from the very first ("Featured Topics") post in this (Pouchitis) Forum. The option of combining antibiotics is mentioned in that article, which is what persuaded my doctor that it was worth trying. You could bring the article to your next appointment.
