I have chronic pouchitis for many years. I am considering surgery for an ileostomy. Has anyone had one? If so, what are the results? Has it helped?

Msshoe - I, too, have suffered with serious J-pouch issues and am considering going back to a bag. There are other threads on this topic in forums that might be of interest and a recent survey I started under surveys. Don't let results of survey shock you. The numbers are pretty much what I expected, at least for the went-ahead-and-did-it answer. Good luck.
