Hey all,

Well, tomorrow is the CCFA Team Challenge Napa to Sonoma, CA half marathon. My wife flew out yesterday morning for the race and is enjoying a day in Napa visiting the Peanuts (Charles Schultz) museum. She is a huge Peanuts fan.

If you happen to be running or are attending the race as a fan, she will be wearing her bright orange Team Challenge shirt with "Steve" and "www.j-pouch.org" drawn in big letters on the bottom front of her shirt.

Nothing like a plug for j-pouch.org at the race Smiler I am SO proud of her for running with and for "my people."

I got a lovely email from your other half. Wishing her perfect weather!

Charles story.... years ago when Santa Rosa had its first 'First Night' I was standing in line waiting to use the restroom. Standing in line with me was Charles Schultz. 'First Night' was a Peanuts-themed event. He started talking to me and said that the whole event happened because of his wife. He just gushed about his wife (as if his talents had nothing to do with the event) - he gave her all of the credit.

Then a restroom became available - the men's restroom. He insisted I go before him even though he was ahead of me in line.

Yeah, he just melted my heart and everytime I think about him or see a Peanuts character it makes me smile (and a little weepy) because of that man.

When you talk with her tell her to go ice skating at the Charles Schultz arena. He's done a lot for Sonoma County.

Steve, congrats to your wife on a job well done. :-) I've
run a couple of races with Team Challenge and I'm now helping
to coach the DC-area team. I know how special those events
are. It takes your breath away when you contemplate what
all the participants have done and are doing for IBD reserch,
treatment and support.

FYI, Team Challenge is currently recruiting for the fall season.
The race is the Las Vegas Half Marathon on December 2nd. I've
run this race twice and it is alot of fun. One other thing to
point out, you don't have to be a runner. Walkers and run/walkers
are certainly welcome. Jan, there are many 'fast walkers' out there.
;-)

Kind Regards, Steve
