So I posted on here a while back about having prolapses that I am getting treated. The treatment has helped with the pain and discomfort but so far hasn't helped with pouch emptying and I am in a cycle of taking prednisone (with only grudging approval by my GI) and being able to go normally/eat or slowly losing the ability to empty my pouch or pass gas even on a very restricted diet, then straining and going more often, losing weight, and apparently making the prolapse worse Dr Shen told me to NOT strain and catheterize my pouch but I can't find the catheter I think I need. I haven't received the detailed instructions from him yet but from what I've read I need a Medena straight 30 french? Is this right? Where do I get one??? I found them online but most places seem to require a prescription (I don't have one) and have expensive slow shipping or VERY expensive 2-day shipping. Even 2-days is a long time when you literally can't empty your pouch anymore.

Ugh finally got the info. For those that also need these things the current recommendation is a Marlen Straight Ostomy Catheter 30Fr 15 inch medium. I wasn't able to find it locally and I live in a big city (DC). I sucked it up and spent 40.00 on shipping. I also gave in and took prednisone because I couldn't take it anymore and even with 40.00 shipping its going to be 2-3 days. Also I wasn't sure I could insert it anyway with the inflammation getting that bad. WTF pouch... Bright side is that 5 hours later I can poop again.
