Aren't we all stool inspectors now? Wink

I am curious to know if the orangey-amber colored stool I pass sometimes, very caustic and slightly clear, is generated in the pouch when I have a partial blockage? It comes and goes, and if it is an indication my adhesions are getting worse, I might be nearing the time for my dreadful hernia/adhesion clean-up surgery. Does anyone know what this might be an indication of? I often have terrible leakage, irritation, and more spasming when I am passing this "stuff."

It is one of those "it depends" things. Stool color basically changes based on how long it has been in your system. It starts out green (bile), then as digestion progresses, it goes through color changes of orange to brown. The closer to green it is, the quicker it is moving through. Different things can precipitate quicker transit. It could be diet related, infection, and yes, partial obstruction.

With obstruction, the peristalsis speeds up, in order to try to move the obstruction through.

But, I don't think you can say the stool color is diagnostic. Still, you could use it to try to tack your symptoms.
