I have not had any pouchitis, to my knowledge, but recently had great difficulty "going", lots of gassiness, bursts of small stool output, and belly pain with distention. I went to urgent care and my GP and X-rays confirmed what they thought was a partial bowel obstruction. Thankfully, it resolved on a liquid diet for 1 week without hospitalization. Now: I'm still struggling with a tendency to be constipated and a painful burning sensation with bowel movements. I am wondering if this could be my "version" of pouchitis or do others suspect something else? Any suggestions would be helpful as I am always worrying about something going wrong with my j pouch. I am 61 years old, female, DX UC age 55, ruptured colon and colonectomy age 58, and at 59 two stage j pouch surgeries. In the 2+ years since my take down I have been mostly problem free with my pouch. Thank you to all for this site! It is so helpful!! I am a new participant.
